These shoes are molded somehow like leather paper Mache, if that makes sense? Meaning, they all hug the foot differently, feels like the leather is hand molded or something. They appear to have been a struggle to create, may be why they cost so much? Anyhow, I had to try on several different pairs of the same size to find a pair to make both feet fit (around toe strap & ankle strap too) & that had uniform color among the leather pieces also. I did not mind the extra work to find a symmetrical pair because the result is now fabulous & they are easily my favorite shoes. I wore them once so far, walked a few miles in them sightseeing for like 6 hours & a stranger lady literally hunted me down to grill me where I got them haha! After a few hours the inside sole stitching around the bottom felt like fishing line thread and hurt the perimeter bottom of my sole though. Had to soak my feet in saltwater bucket once I got home since that hurt, but I still love them & prolly just had to break them in hopefully. Plus I typically do not walk around town that much & they were brand new still. I sprayed them with waterproof leather spray & they did not discolor, but they will scar very easily, every little touch will leave a mark but thats just how the leather is. Eventually they will have that natural weathered look. I like the hidden velcro strap alot. I'm size 8 in sandals, 8.5 in sneakers and got this in an 8 but they are a tad long at the toe still so I think even a 7.5 would have been even better. Oh, also they have a gummy rubber eraser type bottom grip so they are comfy, bouncy and these feel safe even if I walked on a wet marble floor. They are expensive $114 everywhere, even did not go on Black Friday sale, but I still love these =) I am happy with them
